Sheila Schmutz, artisan from Saskatoon

Sheila Schmutz, PhD is a Professor Emerita at the University of Saskatchewan. After 33 years doing genetics research and teaching, she retired in June 2016. Although she had an interest in wearing fur and sewing clothing all her life, she did not begin creating fur-trimmed wearables until then. She is now a member of the Saskatchewan Trappers Association, the Fur Council of Canada, and the Artisanal Fur Collective of Canada.
